I am considering paying for a premium membership, but by the looks of it most of the components do not any have component overlay (silk screen) detail, I was wondering if this is either a problem with my import, that the layers have not been produced, or that it is a feature that will be enabled with premium.

The components do have a silkscreen layer, but our renderer doesn't always show 100% of it. In this case of the tagged part, here is the silkscreen detail that should be available on the part: http://imgur.com/a/1itPF.
There is always a pin 1 indicator on the parts, but the renderer isn't always showing it properly (this is on our list of things to fix).
We'd love your feedback on this as well since we're constantly refining our processes.

Also, which design tool are you using?

Many thanks for your response. I am using Altium, I must admit that I had not actually imported the device in question but viewed it on screen, I see now that the pin 1 marker is a thinner line that does show up well when imported.
It was actually the HSMG-C190 footprint and a couple of passives which did not have any detail (I would typically expect a couple of lines to indicate that the two pads correspond to one component, and at least a polarity indication on the LED)

Thank you for this feedback. I am checking in with our component engineers now for a response on this.

Just sent a response about the silkscreen to your email. Long story short, although the IPC doesn’t specific specific silkscreen guidance, other than it’s a certain distance from any exposed copper, they do provide example images of silkscreen outline, which we use as our internal standard when creating new parts. With the Premium version, you can re-request any component to make sure it is made to our most up-to-date standards.
