Hi Guys,
I found the schematics symbol and footprint for part B3U-1000P. When I specify Altium it download with file extension .lia, which Altium cannot recognize. Can you please guide me on how to open this symbol in Altium?
Thanks,
Bass

In the Altium import wizard, we can import Design files(schematic/ layout) & Library files. I think the common mistake what people are doing is adding the .lia file in the importing P-CAD designs area. After Selecting P-CAD Design and Libraries Files you have to click Next 2 times.
Altium:
File>> Import Wizard >> click Next >>Select P-CAD Design and Libraries Files >>click Next >> dont add .lia files here.its for imporing Circuit Design files not the library >> click Next again > click Add button and add the lia file >> next >> next...... ...
Finish
ya it will work in Altium designer 10

Hi Bassam,
There are some basic instructions on our FAQ which I've copied below:
1. Select File > Import Wizard.
2. Select PCAD library from the list and click Next.
3. Click Next again to skip importing a design.
4. The next dialog will be to import a PCAD library. Add the file downloaded from SnapEDA and follow the rest of the prompts.
Let me know if you still have trouble.

Hi Garret,
I tried following your instructions, but once I select the SnapEDA library file and click next, Altium will stop responding. P-CAD Import Wizard will show a window with the 'Analyzing Files' progress bar that freezes after a few seconds. I tried this several times.

Hi Garret,
I tired downloading the file in Eagle format, then converting it to Altium and it worked.

Hi all,
If you're still having trouble adding the P-CAD import wizard, take a look at this question here which should help: https://www.snapeda.com/questions/question/i-dont-have-the-p-cad-importer-in-altium-designer/

Hi I am using Altium 18 and I found a fix for this. Its simple just drag the .lia file in altium and a P-CAD wizard will appear. Then just keep pressing next and it will install. It worked for me.

Thanks for coming up with a new format that makes things take longer, be more messy, risky and time-wasting.
