Dear Sir/Madam,
I downloaded the symbol and footprint of the "5390213-1" and do the import according to the instruction. But I am not able to do the "Create Netlist" in OrCAD. The error messages are "ERROR(SPMHNI-195): Symbol 'TYCO_5390213-1' for device '5390213-1_TYCO_5390213-1_539021' is missing pin '20'." (here I just list out one of the error messages simply because from pin1 to pin100 all have this error message).
Can you please help me on that?
Thanks.

Lin,
Could you try something for me to see if it will fix your problem? Could you open the 'TYCO_5390213-1_pkg.scr' file provided in the .zip file with a text editor and change line 63 from:
'FORM mini pintype_mechanical YES'
to
'FORM mini pintype_mechanical NO'
Once that is done, save the file and run the scripts to generate the footprint again. Then try generating the netlist in OrCAD again. I think that Allegro is labeling those pins as mechanical support pins only and the pin number is getting ignored. I will work on fixing this issue for the export once I get confirmation from you that it fixes your issue.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Matt

Hi, Matt
Thank you for the reply. I just tried it again with the line 63 of "FORM mini pintype_mechanical YES" and "FORM mini pintype_mechanical NO" respectively and got failed on both cases. Before that, I tried one .zip file of the other chip that I downloaded from this website previously to make sure the procedure I conducted is correct.
Thanks.

Lin,
Are you using the automatic import method (allegro-builder.bat) or the manual import method? It is necessary to rebuild the Allegro footprint after modifying 'TYCO_5390213-1_pkg.scr'. For the automatic import method the allegro-builder.bat file must be executed again. For the manual import method you have to open up Allegro and manually run the 'TYCO_5390213-1_pkg.scr' again under File - Script... in the Allegro menu bar. The 'TYCO_5390213-1.dra' drawing file that this script produces must replace the old version of that file.
Did you try that full process?
Thanks,
Matt

Hi, Matt
Yes, I repeat both cases using the full process:
(1) Delete everything.
(2) Unzip the .zip file.
(3) Change the line 63 (for both of "YES" and "ON" scenarios respectively).
(4) And then run the .bat script
Thanks.

Lin,
Sorry I believe I mistyped in my original direction. Line 53 should be changed, not like 63. Both lines 53 and 63 should say:
'FORM mini pintype_mechanical NO'
Thanks,
Matt

Lin,
Upon further review, this still does not seem completely resolve the issue. OrCAD produces the netlist, but the mechanical drill holes are not present in the footprint. I will continue to look into how to get this fully resolved.
Thanks,
Matt
